III Mexican Conference CEIMEXCAN
You are invited to participate in the third national conference among Mexican graduate
students and Mexican Researchers in Canada. The conference will take place at the Consulate of Mexico in Montreal, Quebec during the 24th to 26th of October of this year. The primary objective of this conference is to give recognition, among the university community in Mexico and Canada, to the work being accomplished by students of Mexican origin working in any area of knowledge and those non-Mexicans working in subjects related to Mexico.
Eligibility
Graduate students or researchers in Canada who were born in Mexico or whose parents are from Mexican origin and those graduate students and researchers of other nationalities interested in some topic related to Mexico.
Evaluation of the Jury
The organizers encourage the participation of all the people interested. All the proposals
will be welcome and included in the programme. In the case that special observations or
recommendations are needed, they will be made known to the applicants a week after
their submission.
Forms of Participation
Presentation: 15 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes of questions (Language: English)
Poster: Exhibition of poster during a period of 3 hours (Language: English), it can be used posters from recent conferences.
Note: English is preferred for international distribution of the work.
Deadline
The due date to submit the final proposal is SEPTEMBER 30, 2008.
Application process
First Call
We encourage you to send a title, author(s) name(s) and a 10 line abstract. The idea of this exercise is to allow the committee to organize precisely the areas to cover during the Conference CEIMEXCAN 2008. Also this will help the authors to ask for financial funding to travel to Montreal and to request assistance with the accommodation.

Those interested should send via email their personal information and a full manuscript of their work of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 pages to ceimexcan2008@yahoo.com
This document must be sent under a single WORD or PDF file named in the format
“YOURNAME–ContributionTitle.doc”or “YOURNAME–ContributionTitle.pdf”. The manuscripts should be written in English for the reason mentioned above.

Costs
Transportation, shelter and food should be covered by the participants. The possibility of providing refreshments by the Organization CEIMEXCAN is being looked into. We will keep you informed in our website about this issue.
Proceedings and Material
A CD with the manuscripts of the contributions will be delivered the day of the event. A book of abstracts will be also provided, including information on the event and participant details for networking. Finally, a diploma will be awarded to all the participants. A webpage will be created, with the permission of the authors, to include the summaries of the selected works, images of the conference and some notes about the discussions that may have taken place. The articles will be promoted in different institutions and companies in Mexico.

Your help is essential to us. Any contribution will be welcomed and will evidently count with the credit of authorship. Remember that all the Universities in Canada have a budget for presentations in different conferences during the year; each department has his own consideration. During this conference we will be handling participation letters to support you petition and requests for funding. The letters will be sign by authorities of CEIMEXCAN and IME.
